Orthopaedics

We are committed to providing your pet with the very best surgical care and at a reasonable price. At Parklands Veterinary Group, we have invested in the latest air drills and equipment to make surgery less traumatic and the latest AO dynamic compression plate technology which aims to allow dogs to walk out of the surgery the next day following fracture surgery.

We are happy to see all orthopaedic first opinion and referrals, from the routine to the complex, including:

  • Musculoskeletal trauma (fractures, luxations)
  • Cruciate disease cases, TTA or lateral suture stabilisation
  • Hip dysplasia
  • Elbow fracture surgery
  • Arthroscopic (‘key hole’) investigation of joint disease
  • Patellar luxation surgery
  • Staging and management of osteosarcoma and other bone tumours

Veterinary Surgeons at Parklands have many years of experience at managing major soft tissue and orthopaedic trauma injuries and have the expertise to manage all aspects of trauma cases.

It’s important to have a great surgeon but it’s equally important to have a great anaesthesia team and all our nurses are Royal college qualified Veterinary Nurses aided by high tech fluid therapy and anaesthetic monitoring equipment. Cutting edge anaesthetic techniques, drugs and equipment are used to make anaesthesia as safe as posisble for our patients.
